From July 18th to 20th, 2024, the Skyz Hotel Kampala buzzed with excitement as Kidspreneurs Uganda hosted a dynamic Teens Baking Workshop. This three-day event, designed to ignite the culinary passions of young aspiring bakers, brought together teens eager to learn the art of baking. Under the guidance of professional chefs and the visionary founder of Kidspreneurs Uganda, Abigael Kabugho, participants embarked on a delightful journey from basic baking techniques to mastering more advanced recipes.
Day 1: Introduction to Baking and Ingredients
The workshop kicked off on a high note, with Day 1 focusing on the fundamentals of baking. Teens were introduced to essential baking ingredients, learning how each component plays a critical role in the baking process. The professional chefs demonstrated how to create basic yet delicious baked goods like bread and donuts. This hands-on experience allowed the participants to get their hands dirty—literally—while understanding the science behind baking.
Day 2: Baking Cookies, Cake, and Pancakes
Day 2 was all about creativity and fun, as the teens dived into baking cookies, cakes, and pancakes. The chefs shared their expert tips on achieving the perfect consistency for dough, the right temperatures for baking, and how to layer and decorate cakes.
